Advanced Geotechnical Solutions was hired by Western Heritage Consulting and Engineering to provide testing and observation for future projects in the irrigation district. Observations of site geology, geologic/geotechnical hazards, thrust block movement, and slab displacement, were made at five pump station sites and three seepage sites located near the canal. These observations were used to determine recommendations for further exploration and investigation of the sites. Chemical laboratory tests were conducted on samples collected from all three seepage sites and two of the pump station sites. The results from the tests determined whether the soil and rock in contact with the infrastructures would induce or exacerbate corrosion. Advanced Geotechnical Solutions was able to provide recommendations for additional exploration and geotechnical engineering in future project phases.
