Western Heritage Consulting and Engineering hired Advanced Geotechnical Solutions in the spring of 2020 to perform subsurface exploration, laboratory testing, and geotechnical engineering. Subsequently, we gathered information regarding subsurface conditions, including site geology, soil conditions, groundwater, and seismicity. We also performed analyses on material properties, slope stability analyses, seepage analyses, and liquefaction analyses; as a result, we were able to make recommendations for earthwork, foundations, lateral earth pressures, and seismic site classifications. Working in active collaboration with the client helped us determine the safest and most efficient design for the project.
In the spring of 2021, AGS was then hired to perform the construction materials testing part of the project. These activities consisted of field density testing and laboratory testing of the soils and aggregates of the location during the dam rehabilitation project.
