Bar Nunn Town Hall
Overview
In 2021, Advanced Geotechnical Solutions (AGS) was contracted by CEPI to provide geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) for the new Bar Nunn Town Hall. Designed as both a government center and a community space, the 21,600-square-foot facility includes a town hall, recreation center, and full-sized gym—doubling the size of a previously proposed structure for the same site.
Prior geotechnical data from the earlier project concept provided a starting point, but the larger scale required additional subsurface exploration. As the project progressed to the construction phase, AGS performed nuclear density testing to ensure proper compaction of soils and conducted concrete strength tests to confirm structural integrity throughout construction.
One key challenge was navigating Wyoming’s unpredictable weather, which affected construction scheduling and field-testing timelines. Despite this, AGS provided consistent on-site support to help keep the project on track.
The completed facility now stands as a central hub for Bar Nunn residents, combining civic function with valuable recreational amenities—made possible in part by AGS’s rigorous geotechnical oversight and construction materials testing.
